quiet on the {mid} western front.

It's been quiet around here...there hasn't even much to blog about, and I am just plain awful at getting caught up in my schedule. Also, I'm blogging from my phone since my computer charger seems to have stopped working. Sweet.

First, we had some plans in motion to move back to Springfield. We were so excited to move back to our old college town, so I could finish school. Recently, we found out that it wouldn't be possible, and all hopes of me finishing my degree at my beloved MSU were dashed.

Second, this post can be, if you will, a sequel to my icky feelings post from earlier in the year. Some negative "energy" has reappeared. I'm not great at dealing with rudeness/bulIies. I know you're supposed to "kill them with kindness", but it's a struggle for me. Luckily, I have a great mentor/role model who is the perfect example f loving people unconditionally, and has a knack for treating everyone with equal kindness and respect.

Third, Facebook. I just want to delete the darn thing. Lately, it seems like EVERYONE has something to say about someone else. I've seen statuses making fun of Cardinals fans (really? I would never LAUGH at someone if their favorite teams failed miserably),bashing political views (because tearing someone down will really convince them to vote for your party), and the being the most blatantly obvious hypocrite out there (I won't even delve further into that one. Not worth my time). What is wrong with people? What makes someone think that just because you have a different opinion, that they are superior? Does it make them feel good to name-call or bully? In a time when bullying can have such tragic consequences, we sure are setting a poor example for children. It is astounding the amount of things people can pick apart. I dislike country music. If you love it, great. I get that I live in Missouri, and it is inevitable that I will hear it. If you find a song, artist, album, whatever...that makes your heart sing and goosebumps rise, then that's all I care about. If you find inspiration from one simple lyric, then the artist did their job. Who cares if its Toby Keith, Wiz Khalifa, Biebs, or Grouplove? If you love for something, shout it from the rooftops! If you are putting someone down or bullying them to agree with you, then it means nothing.

  3. So, I know this is really random, and I never comment on blogs but I had to send you a message! Earlier I instagrammed a photo of some plates I bought at Red Velvet with the hashtag redvelvetshop. And when I clicked on the hashtag for more photos, I found one of yours! Which was cool because I could see the plates I'd bought in the corner of your pic! So I was looking to see if you took other photos at the store and noticed we have some similar interests liiiike - I've got the exact same Motel mug, stache ring, cookbook, and I'm originally from St Louis! And then I saw you had this blog (I promise it's not stalker ish at all, I just thought it was neat to see someone else with similar interests!) And when I read this article, I found it so ironic because I've had the same thoughts recently regarding rude people and Facebook, you just worded it all better than I ever can! And your line about if a song gives you goosebumps, no matter who sings it, that's all that matters....I've said the EXACT same thing before! So anyway, sorry this was kinda rambling, but in conclusion, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for putting your thoughts and photos out there, stumbling upon them has reassured me there are others around that are a lot like me, and it's kind of a nice feeling :) And also, if you're wondering who the random was that liked your pic on Instagram, that's me lol
